TRILL - The Most Important Storage Term In 2010
TRILL or Transparent Interconnection of Lots of Links may be the most important new term we will hear in storage over the next year. Making Sure Desktop Virtualization Won’t Break Storage
IT Managers are now considering the next big virtualization move; desktop virtualization as a way to help lower the costs of deploying and managing user desktops and laptops. The major road block that desktop virtualization has to overcome is the load that desktop virtualization puts on storage resources. It is unprecedented, even when compared to server virtualization. Desktop virtualization vendors try to sidestep the issue by recommending direct attached storage. That won’t work in the enterprise.
In the first part of this webinar Storage Switzerland’s lead analyst, George Crump, will provide a primer on covering the general challenges and potential data center class solutions to the desktop virtualization storage dilemma. Then in part two experts from storage solutions leader FalconStor will discuss how their upcoming products will help solve some of the storage performance challenges related to desktop virtualization.
